HTC Desire with Android coming to Softbank Japan?

After reading through the press release PDF and watching the conference from Softbank, I have come to the conclusion that the only phone fitting the description is the HTC Desire. The only details that Softbank has released so far is that the phone will be running Android with a 1ghz Snapdragon processor, have wifi and a 3.7oled display. It will also have access to Google services and the Android marketplace. The following is from the Softbank PDF:

I hope that this will be released early March as I am really wanting to get one. I phoned Softbank asking about a release date and they told me that there are no details available for this device. They indicated that they usually have the phone in the database two months prior to release indicating the phone may be released around June.

  1. Picked up a brand new Desire about a month ago as a business phone however am very dissatisfied , firstly i would have about 900 contacts on my prior XDA and was able to view by company or individual, not so on Desire only by individual which is of no use particularly with no search option either. Android 2.2 is supposed to have search facility but not different view option launch date seems to differ each time . Battery pretty good approx 18 hrs medium usage. Wireless bluetooth poor, paired with parrott car kit ok for day or so however won’t connect even by unpairing and pairing new, same problem with wireless bluetooth headset……..any ideas

  2. I group my contacts. Not too sure about your bluetooth issues. I would recommend upgrading to froyo and giving that a go.
