‘Beta’ get in quick – If you can. LittleBigPlanet!

Just applied myself, not too sure on the details but per usual it involves downloading a theme for the PS3. Looks like you can apply up until the 23rd, and the beta takes place from the 29th to the 12th.

Good Luck!

Warhawk Omega Dawn Pack NOT Reigon Free!

I just found out the hard way. I have the US version of Warhawk on a Japanese PS3, and just purchased the “Booster Pack” to Warhawk. It does not work. A waste of $8. I’m pissed. I should not have to find the FAQ page to read if it is region free or not, there should be a region code check before allowing you to download content that wont work. I was looking foward to playing the new maps with the drop ship, now I have $8 less and a addon pack that wont work. Other than somehow getting my hands on a US credit card is there any other way to get this working ?

Im actually doing it!

First time ever using my laptop while on the toilet! My stomach has been acting up, must have been that random 4pm McDonald’s lunch (missed breakfast and lunch) Bit cramped in here – and oh the smell, but pretty productive if you ask me. First time blogging from the toilet too. Not much going on around in here, so ill update you with what’s happening.

Spent the summer doing nothing much, went to Izu prefecture to go visit hot springs, went to Tateyama to climb a mountain and drank alot with James’s mates. Bought a couple new PS3 games (Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Vegas and Ghost Recon Advanced War fighter 2) been playing Bioshock and that about sums it up.

Summers almost finished, so I will be driving up to FujiQ Highlands on Friday with some of the alt’s and staying the night – full two days of riding roller coasters and such. This will be my first visit to an actual roller coaster park, New Zealand has one, but I wouldn’t really call it a roller coaster, it’s very small.

New school coming next week – going to be a long visit this time, all the way to December. Going to be interesting as I will be taking around three weeks off to go visit and New Zealand for my sisters and fathers birthday. Still wondering what I should get my father for his birthday, I’m thinking along the lines of a nice knife or something.

I think I’ve finished in here – almost destroyed my girlfriends toilet. Everyone is always telling me to watch what I eat, now I know why (Oh the pain!)

Domain Back Up

Haven’t made any posts for a while due to my domain name being renewed. Had a few problems sorting things out but now all seem to be working.

Almost finished at my current school, have a week and a half to go. I’m really going to miss this one – I think its the best Ive been at so far. The teachers are great and the kids have just enough energy to make things interesting. My bunch is the second year kids, the nosiest lot by far, but are allot of fun in class.

Not many updates on the Playstation front. I have recently downloaded Super Rub-a-dub-dub and Flow. Flow is a cool game, but all the gfx and lighting effects seem to make my eyes bleed after a while. Super Rub is ok, but not something that I’m really into. Still waiting for some decent games – shouldn’t be too far away now. Did however receive my free copy of the new bond movie on blue ray – glad I’m a New Zealander, I just had it mailed over here to me in NZ.

Recent spending spree netted me a new Nintendo DS with a kanji learning program, and a new electronic dictionary. An expensive month all up, totaling about 60,000 yen. Should be finally able to get around to studying kanji using some portable electronic gizmo – the only way to learn.

Thats that for now.

Check out these stats! Double the PC Power in 3 Days!

Currently the PS3 Is rocking up the folding@home stats – completely outperforming all other operating systems combined. Just three days ago the performance output of the PS3 was less than half the PC (still in beta I assume). And just look at the difference in number of processors compared to the PC. I bet the folding at home team are having some fun. This must have been what they meant when they said “10 Times more powerful than….”

PS3 1.6 Update

Running folding at home client now (Join kotaku group 55008). Console is making a weird sound though, like the old CRT monitors used to make. Hope it doesn’t explode. I like the background downloading, have upped a few vids to gametrailers.com but they are waiting to be compressed or something. Will update later tonight.

Update: Hissing stopped after closing the folding at home client. Weird. Oh, and there are currently 2 Australian users folding. FYI 🙂 (I’m in Japan but a New Zealander)

Another funny thing, its been only about three or four hours and heres the stats for the first video I posted:
